Bidding

The basics: how a lot goes from listed to sold.

How does an auction here work?

Every lot shows its starting bid and runs until its posted end time. The highest bid when the clock hits zero wins. The page updates live, so you never have to refresh to see where things stand.

Two ways to bid on any lot: tap Bid to go one step above the current price, or set a max bid and the system bids for you.

What is the minimum I can raise a bid by?

Increments scale with the price — small lots move in small steps, big lots in bigger ones. The bid button always shows the exact next bid, so there's never math to do.

Why does the clock sometimes add time at the end?

A bid in the final moments pushes that lot's end time out a little, so nobody gets sniped at the buzzer. It keeps things fair for the person who was leading and the person who just bid. The new end time shows on the page the moment it changes.

Can I take a bid back?

No. A bid is a handshake. Once it's placed it stands, so bid what you're comfortable paying. If you're unsure, set a max bid instead of tapping through increments.

How will I know if I've been outbid?

We text you, and the item page shows it in red until you're back in front. My Bids lists everything you're winning and losing at a glance.

Can other bidders see who I am?

No. Bids show up as numbered entries, never your name or contact info — and your max bid is never shown to anyone.

Max bids

Set it once. The system holds the line while you get on with your day.

What is a max bid?

The most you'd pay for a lot. You enter it once; from then on the system places the smallest bid needed to keep you in front — every time someone else bids, instantly, right up to your number and never past it.

If nobody pushes you, you win for less than your max. If someone sets a higher max than yours, you're outbid and we text you so you can decide whether to go higher.

Show me an example.

The lot sits at $20. You set a max of $85. The system bids $22 for you. Someone else bids $25; it answers with $27. Nobody else shows up, so the lot closes at $27. Your other $58 stays in your pocket.

Is my max bid private?

Completely. Other bidders only ever see the current price. Your ceiling is between you and us.

Can I change or cancel a max bid?

You can raise it any time from the item page. It can't be lowered or cancelled once set — like any bid, it stands — so pick a number you're comfortable paying.

What you pay

No surprises at checkout. Here's the whole bill.

When is my card charged?

Only if you win, and only when the auction closes. Placing a bid does not charge you. Losing does not charge you. The item page shows your total — bid, buyer's premium, per-item fee and sales tax — before you commit, so the number you see is the number you pay.

Is there a buyer's premium or tax?

Yes — the item page breaks it down for you: your winning bid, plus the buyer's premium, a small per-item fee and Michigan sales tax where they apply. The total is always shown before you bid.

Why do I need a card on file before I can bid?

It keeps the room honest. Everyone who bids can pay, so winners are real and lots don't get tied up. Cards are stored by Stripe; we never see or keep your card number.

What if a charge fails?

You'll get a text with a link to fix your payment — use the card on file or add a new one. Lots that go unpaid for too long may be forfeited.

Are refunds a thing?

All sales are final. Lots are sold as described and photographed. If something is genuinely not as listed, call us at (810) 484-0695 and we'll make it right.

Bid Bucks

Bring a friend, knock $5 off your next bill.

How do Bid Bucks work?

Share your invite link from the Bid Bucks page. When a friend signs up through it, wins a lot, and their payment goes through, you earn a $5 coupon. It comes off your next winning bill automatically — nothing to type in.

Is there a limit?

Up to five friends, so up to $25. One coupon per bill, on bills of $5 or more.

What doesn't count?

Inviting yourself, or accounts that share your phone number or card. Bid Bucks have no cash value and can't be transferred.

Your account

Profile, notifications, and signing in without a password.

How do I sign in?

With your email — we send a one-time code, you type it in, you're in. No password to remember or forget.

How do I update my phone number or card?

From My Account. Keep your phone number current: outbid alerts, win notices and pickup reminders all go by text.

Where is everything I've bid on?

My Bids: active bids, wins, payment status and what's waiting for pickup — all in one place.

Can I bid without an account?

No. An account, a phone number and a card on file are what make every bid in the room real. Signing up takes about a minute.

Still stuck?

A real person picks up. Call or text (810) 484-0695 and we'll sort it out.
